Meet the Owner & Developer Extraordinaire - General Info

I am unequivocally nerdy. I love talking about languages, linguistics, religion, and tons of other things. Specifically, my linguistics interests are: historical/comparative linguistics, etymology, and language acquisition.

...But I also like to have fun, doing random stuff and living out my youth to its fullest potential. I love going on adventures, seeing new places, experiencing new things. I am, for better or for worse, informal nearly 100% of the time. Spontaneity and randomness aren't four letter words.

I've been told that I'm a pretty intense person. I've also been told I am very laid back. Maybe I'm intense about being laid back? I'm not sure where that comes from, but I'll accept it. I love learning about new things. If you're involved with something I'm not entirely familiar with, be prepared to answer tons of probing questions.

I love to volunteer; most of the time I volunteer for United Cerebral Palsy and the American Red Cross, although I do take advantage of random opportunities as they arise (such as going down to New Orleans with Campus Crusade for Christ to help gut houses for free). I'm not a Christian, but somehow most of the coolest people I hang out end up being Christian anyway.

I'm pretty straight-edge, but try hard to not be judgemental for people who aren't. I've begun to learn recently that drinking parties can be fun even (and perhaps especially) if you choose not to drink yourself. My sense of morality means a lot to who I am. (For more details, just ask.)

I realize this all makes me sound very dry and boring, but I can assure you I am not :).
